Optical Fibers for Spectrometer

Single-strand optical fibers are silica-core and silica-clad, and are optimized for the UV-VIS (200-750 nm) or VIS-NIR (450-1000 nm). Standard assemblies are 2 meters in length, and are available in sizes ranging from 8 mm to 1000 mm in diameter. Spectral attenuation characteristics and fiber transmission characteristics -- the latter using Ocean Optics light sources and spectrometers -- are shown here.
